Why Everyone Should Launch That Business They’ve Always Dreamed Of with Nabil Fakih

If you ask most people if they have an idea for a business or if they have ever come up with a solution which they think could make a fantastic product then you will find that the large majority of people around the world will tell you yes. The big issue here is that all of these people are coming up with business ideas or fascinating product ideas but they don’t execute on those ideas.

I was in this boat some years ago until a good friend of mine Nabil Fakih encouraged me to do something about it. I began to make some plans for business whilst I was still working in my marketing job, and eventually, I decided that it was time to take the risk and give the business a try. Had it not been for Nabil I would never have had the faith in myself or the necessary motivation to take the plunge and give the business a go. If you are one of those who has a great business idea but you don’t think that you have what it takes to turn it into a success, here is why you have to go for it.

Regrets

Those who say that they don’t regret anything are not always telling the whole truth and once you get into your later years it is only human and natural to look back through your life and wonder what may have happened had you done things differently. There is nothing wrong with taking an action or a decision which you later learn to have been a mistake, at least you will have tried. There is however bound to be a pang of regret when you look back over your life and wish that there was something that you had done that you didn’t. Reflecting back and wondering what may have been with your business will cause you great regret when you get older.

Make the Idea Happen

There is a pretty famous story about a young man from Nebraska, who back in 2007 had a great idea for what he thought would be a brilliant business. His idea was a phone application that could be used for a carpool, and a taxi service that could be operated from the app. The man failed to do that as he thought it was a smarter idea to stay in his day job. As we all know now, Uber was born back in 2009 and has gone on to become a multi-million dollar business. The point here is that if you have a great idea then you have to take action becasue if you wait too long, someone else is going to think about it and take that idea to the bank, leaving you wondering what might have been.

Happiness

I was never miserable in my previous job working in marketing but the difference between how happy I was then compared with how happy I am now is huge. There is something so pleasing about waking up every single morning and knowing that you are going to work in your very own business. Everything you at work is for your own benefit and for the good of your own company and that gives you such a rewarding feeling that I find it difficult to explain. If you have been dreaming of a business then you owe it to yourself to make it happen and to give yourself that happiness which you deserve.

Why Not?

This is what Nabil said to me when I told him that I wasn’t going to launch my business, and as simple as it sounds it is a very valid point. What could there possibly be that is holding you back from launching something which you are passionate about. Most people’s fears are that they aren’t good enough, that they’ll run out of money or that their business just won’t work. The answer to all of those fears is so what? There is always a chance to get more money, you can learn from failures and use that learning to be better in the future and the reality is that you will have no idea whatsoever whether or not your business is going to work until you just go ahead and give it a try. The more that you wait, procrastinate and hope for a better situation to come along, the longer you are putting off something which is going to make you happy and give you a new lease of life.
